A specially designed honeycomb curtain with a bespoke internal foil lining to ensure no light passes through is now available hermetically sealed within a standard 28mm thick double glazed unit. Like our BGB Venetian blind the blackout version is controlled via our uniquely robust and smooth-to-operate magnet to ensure easy operation even on the larger size blinds.
The Project
Health Spaces worked closely with the hospital’s clinical teams to understand their bespoke requirements for the new healthcare space. The solution proposed was a two-storey building, linked to the main hospital, to provide a 14-bed ICU on the first floor, and a 26-bed ward and administration offices on the ground floor.
Using modern building methods, pre-constructed modular units were delivered to site, followed by a programme of internal fit-out works.
The ICU contains six single-occupancy side rooms and two four-bedded bays, as well as two nurses’ stations, offices and staff facilities. Health Spaces included features such as privacy windows between patient beds, and a bespoke family room which will provide a better experience for loved ones and visitors, as well as patients.
Between Glass Blinds
Working with Health Spaces, Between Glass Blinds offered hygienic privacy glazed screens that included integral blinds to the patient bedrooms and family rooms. The screens were manufactured with acoustic laminate glazing to minimise the airborne noise between the bedded areas and communal space.
The project encouraged maximising the most of the natural light so the integral blinds also functioned to offer clear viewing, with the blinds functioning to tilt open & close as well as lift up & down.
